Surf at Maldives
CommentsSun, sand and sea, a thousand 'Robinson Crusoe' islands, massive lagoons with different depths and infinite shades of blue and turquoise, dazzling underwater coral gardens; a perfect natural combination for the ideal tropical holiday vacation destination. This is the Maldives! However there is more to the Maldives than just that. It is one of the world's best surfing destinations and offers both quality resorts, boat Surfaris and brilliant surfing breaks to tempt even the most hard core surfer.
The Maldives has become a destination for surfers looking for exotic waves but with a quality aspect and safety required in today's world. Surfing is relatively new to the Maldives, especially compared to more established activities such as scuba diving, so you will not find surf shops or a surf industry but you will find amazing surf so Maldives is now firmly on the world's surf map.
Here at Pure Vacations Maldives we are constantly looking for more surf spots throughout the atolls that make up the Maldives and you will find that our programme both on the islands and at sea on the surf boats aims to offer you a quality surfing destination throughout, and a guarantee that you will experience some great surf.
Great surf spots include areas such as Chickens, Cokes, Piddlies / Ninjas, Sultans, and Honkey's. Touring on Pure Vacations boats allows total flexibility, maximising your surf vacation time. Wake up to perfect waves at sunrise, followed by a hearty breakfast, another surf & maybe sample some of the best fishing in the world. Lunch is on deck - it could be that huge fish you caught in the morning.
The weather in Maldives is influenced by two monsoons; the northeast monsoon and the southwest monsoon from November to March brings fine weather coincides with the high tourist season. The southwest monsoon from April to October is often wet and rainy. However, this period provides the best surf and the rain only normally lasts for short heavy showers and then its sun again.
Surfing in the Maldives is on an all time high and is one of the most up and coming surf destinations in the world. If you already love surfing then you'll love surfing in the Maldives.
The Maldives is an awesome surfing destination for all to enjoy, just choose a resort and select a surf guide and you'll be in surfing paradise. Maldives - India
